All of The Jolly Greengrocer Fruit and Vegetable products are sourced from Sydney Markets and are subject to seasonal availability.

The prices of the individual fruit and vegetable items will fluctuate depending on Sydney Market prices.

Established in 1999, The Jolly Greengrocer is a family operated fruit and vegetable service. We pride ourselves in providing quality fruit and vegetables fresh from Sydney Markets at a competitive price.

Due to a shortage of delivery drivers, we have decided to reinvent our business as a CLICK-AND-COLLECT entity with our hub at our warehouse at 8 / 18 Leighton Place, Hornsby.

There is some work to do to adapt our website to our new CLICK-AND-COLLECT service, but we are open for trading and will improve as we go. In a nutshell:

  • ORDERS will be accepted primarily from our ONLINE SHOP with phone support available. Our online shop is currently only accessible to verified customers so please let us know if you would like an account.
  • Our Excel Order Form will be retained while we transition to Online Orders only.
  • Sorry, no mixed or regular set boxes for CLICK-AND-COLLECT. Once you have placed your first ONLINE order, please use the RE-ORDER option from My Account / Orders to view or copy a previous order or start afresh.
  • We will send our courtesy email every Sunday and Tuesday afternoon reminding you to place your order. Please let us know if you wish to have our email reminder stopped.
  • ORDERS will CLOSE at 7 PM on MONDAY for collection on Tuesday and at 7 PM on WEDNESDAY for collection on Thursday. By default, orders received prior to a 7pm cut-off day, will be packed and available for collection the following day. We may close orders prior to the 7 pm cut-off if we are full for the day.
  • So that we can schedule our packing and make sure your order is ready, please let us know (approximately) what TIME you will arrive to collect your order, via a NOTE at the CHECKOUT or email. Your Delivery address details shown at the checkout are superfluous for now.
  • Our PRICING will reflect our lower operational costs. There will be NO MINIMUM ORDER. Please ignore the Delivery Fee Note at the Checkout.
  • We will continue to purchase produce fresh from the Market on the morning that we pack your order for collection. Our quality guarantee will remain.
  • PAYMENT ARRANGEMENTS will remain THE SAME. As a COVID precaution, we will not accept payments at our warehouse.
  • Our WAREHOUSE ADDRESS for order collection is UNIT 8, 18 LEIGHTON PLACE, HORNSBY NSW 2077.
  • We will be open for ORDER COLLECTION during the following hours (or by arrangement): Tuesday 2 pm – 7 pm, Thursday 2 pm – 7 pm.
  • We encourage and will support any personal arrangements for order collection pooling. Parking for order collections is available on our loading dock, directly down the ramp at the end of our building or on the street. Please let us know when you arrive and we will load into your vehicle.

Deliveries for now are by special arrangement only. We will be looking to reopen delivery runs as drivers become available.

Changes have been implemented at Sydney Markets and in our business to mitigate the spread of the COVID-19 Coronavirus.

In the Markets:

  • Public access to the General Trading Area of Sydney Market (Wholesale Markets) is restricted – only registered Buyers are allowed access.
  • All stakeholders are required to check-in at Market entry gates.
  • Sydney Markets adhere to Government directives and have adopted the recommended self-protection advice for good hygiene and physical distancing. Mask wearing is a requirement and sanitiser dispensers have been installed throughout the Markets.

To protect you and our staff:

  • We have a COVID-19 Safety Plan which is adapted as recommendations change.
  • We will quarantine returned boxes for at least 24 hrs before they are reused.
  • We will not be taking cash or cheque payments – bank transfer or credit / debit card only.
  • If any of our team should fall ill we will adhere to the current government guidelines.

Also:

  • As always, is important to thoroughly wash all fruit and vegetables under running water before you consume them.

The Jolly Greengrocer accepts primarily online orders with email and phone support. Please contact us if you would like more information or would like to arrange fruit and vegetables from The Jolly Greengrocer.

The Jolly Greengrocer will send you an email as a reminder to place your order.

For Tuesday collection, our email reminder is distributed on Sunday afternoon and we follow up and accept orders on Monday from 12:30pm until 7pm.

For Thursday collection, our email reminder is distributed on Tuesday afternoon and we follow up and accept orders on Wednesday from 12:30pm until 7pm.

The Jolly Greengrocer accepts online orders from registered customers only. If you would like to register for online orders, please Contact Us to arrange an account.

The Jolly Greengrocer accepts fruit and vegetable orders up until 7:00pm on either a Monday or Wednesday evening for collection the following day.

For all orders, the Total Price rounds to the nearest whole dollar amount. We encourage you to include items so that the total order value is just over the nearest whole $ ensuring that the Total Price rounds down.

Please note that The Jolly Greengrocer generally provides smaller sizes of hand fruit typically suitable for school lunch boxes.

If you are not happy with the quality and freshness of a particular fruit or vegetable item please let us know as soon as possible. We will replace the item or give you a credit towards your next order.

We accept payment by credit / debit card or bank transfer only. Payment is pre-arranged prior to accepting orders.

There are no payment facilities available on our website or online shop.

Please bring back your empty box when you collect your order.
