Market Update for Sunday 14 April 2024
In Vegetable and Salad lines:
- Corn, Cabbage and Chinese Cabbage are available but expensive.
- Most other Vegetable and Salad lines are good and prices are reasonable.
The best seasonal vegetable and salad items are:
- Pumpkin
- Sweet Potato
- Brushed (Dirty) Potatoes
- Broccoli
- Zucchini
- Lebanese Cucumber
- Avocados
- Mushrooms
- Baby Cos Lettuce
- Salad Mix, Baby Spinach and Rocket
In Fruit,
- Seedless Watermelon, Pineapples, Rockmelons and Honeydew melons are nice. We have stopped Papaya due to quality issues.
- Valencia Oranges, Limes and Lemon are good. Imperial Mandarins and Ruby Grapefruit have started too. Navel Oranges will start soon.
- New season Pink Lady, Gala, Jazz and Granny Smith Apples have started. Store apples covered in the fridge to keep them crisp.
- Packham and Nashi Pears have started. Williams Pears have finished.
- Bananas have tightened.
- Australian Red Seedless Grapes are very good. We have finished Green Grapes.
- Australian Kiwifruit have started. NZ Kiwi Gold are available too.
- Plums are still very good.
- Strawberries are good but expensive. Blueberries are unavailable.
- Passionfruit are nice and we have added Pomegranate to our list too.
